Excuse me while I geek-out ...

1. What was your first OTP?
Data/Tasha (ST:tng)

2. What is your current OTP?
Slingshotting between Alice/Hatter (SyFy Alice) and Billy/Trini (MMPR). Will probably change next week ...

3. Which OTP/fandom has most severely EATEN your life thus far?
Ugh. That's hard. Uhhhhhh ... I'd say Buffy/Giles (BTVS).

4. What OTP/fandom do you hate?
I know I'll catch flak for this one: I have a problem with Buffy/Spike (BTVS), even though I know it's canon. The whole relationship squicks me, and not just because of the whole rape issue. I could explain my issues with the pairing in depth, but I don't want to offend the Spuffy fans out there.

5. What is one thing that you'd really like to see in your OTP/fandom? What AU/Plotbunny/cracky thing would you love to see happen?
I would SERIOUSLY love to see an Alpha/Beta/Omega-verse for MMPR, if only to see who is alpha, who is beta and who is omega.

6. Pick an OTP and sell me on it.
I don't really think I can sell Buffy/Giles (BTVS), since folks who are against it usually have pretty strong opinions. But Giles is not Buffy's father, firstly. I'm really tired of that off-the-cuff invalidation. Second, the whole student/teacher issue is one I dispute - Giles never had that much of a controlling influence on Buffy (rather the opposite). If you want to go that route, better to criticise Riley, who actually *did* have influence over her in a teaching capacity. I feel like a lot of the visceral hate thrown at the pairing is thinly-veiled ageism. I just think that there's so much conflict and emotion and sheer number of issues in that relationship that it's a blast to explore. Mind you, that doesn't always mean that the relationship works, but it makes for a hell of a trip.

7. Look at all your OTP's/fandoms. Do they have anything in common?
Definite recurring age difference in a lot of my fandoms, het and slash. I'm sure there's some Freudian reason for that. Also, I like pairs who snark on each other.

8. Have you ever gone from hating an OTP/fandom to 'shipping it?
Yup. Tommy/Kim from MMPR. Which is bizarre, because they're cannon, but I just always thought they were disturbingly bland. But some of the excellent fanworks out there convinced me otherwise, thankfully.

9. Direct me to your OTP's most outstanding fanwork (fic/art/vid, etc.)
[livejournal.com profile] sersky's epic Allice/Hatter (Syfy Alice) trilogy. This series ate about a week of my life.

10. Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about your fellow fangirls/boys.
Love: That would be the supportive/community-ish side of the fandom. There are some great people out there who are really supportive of even the clunkiest creative efforts and cracky-est ideas. I love that.
Hate: Uh, that would be the flamers. Those who flame in their own fandom and at the fandoms of others. We're all human, people. So try to care. And treat differences of opinion as just that - differences. Not as a personal affront.
