I'm so glad that conversation came off okay. It was kind of awkward to write and I deleted several versions of it, so it's really awesome to hear it wasn't a fail.
In my own headcanon, mated pairs (as in a pair where the omega has been properly claimed by the alpha) have less of a knee-jerk biological bent for possessiveness. I liken it to the kind of trust a married couple is supposed to have as opposed to ones who are just dating.
I'm not sure if that makes sense.
