I need a little more fun in my life. That is why FUCK YEAH HAND PUPPETS!

I love these guys, first for their music and then for their distinct lack of shame. I need Fu-chan to DJ my life.

Why do I need more fun in my life? Well, work is (lots and lots) of work. Other than that ... well, I'm trying to cut down on the amount of whining and bitching I do because it just makes me feel worse and doesn't do anyone any good. So 'nuff said. I have a therapist for that, I don't need to bother my f-list with it.

Hope everyone's [insert holiday of choice] season is going well fucking awesome.

"Are you lot kickin' off here? Can you stop Zeig-Heil-ing please??"

akainagi: (buffett - nashville)
Spent all day tailgating for the Jimmy Buffet concert. The show was EXCEPTIONAL. I go every year, and this one was one of the best. That old bastard is like booze, I swear he gets better with age.

Been out of work since Tuesday of last week with bronchitis and a sinus infection. My head still feels like its been stuffed with cotton balls that someone dipped in tabasco sauce and then set of fire. On the bright side, I get to go back to work tomorrow [read: sarcasm].

Well, I am a manager now. I don't think I posted since I got this job. It's pretty evil, and I can find very few redeeming qualities to the position, other than not having to work weekends.

Still looking for a place to live, mostly looking at cheap condos and such, but if I don't find anything I really like, I'll just rent again.

Going to see the Chieftains at symphony hall this week, am loking forward to that. And Jimmy Buffett tickets go on sale Monday. This time I'm springing for the expensive seats.

Oooooh. I just discovered Bump of Chicken. And by "just" I mean 5 minutes ago. I like, I like. I hadn't known they were the ones to do the Tales of the Abyss OP.

I have plans to go down to Concord on Monday, want to to get some manga shopping in. I'm really hoping I don't have to cancel my plans to go to a funeral. Shopping would be so much more pleasant.

I've been diversifying my manga tastes lately, although they are still heavily on the gay side of the tracks. I just finished Saikano, and it really knocked my socks off. Much better than the show. I've also gotten into older yaoi series like Level C and Kizuna. Right now I'm in the middle of reading Excel Saga, which is just getting weirder by the page.

Not looking forward to my weekend at work. We're really short because of vacations and babies popping out and such. Thank god I'm not in charge, that's all I've got to say.

I worked for the last three days and I'm dog freakin tired.
But I gotta be at the dialysis center an hour away at 0630 tomorrow. I know if I crap out now I'll sleep right through and probably wake up at midnight raring to go.
So I've spent my day writing lab reports and trying to find a good Roy/Ed wallpaper to put on my new palm pilot. I finally found some good ones. I also managed to load Advent Children into it to watch when I'm bored or during my nonexistent breaks at work. I also loaded a couple of fuckin hillarious anime music videos in there. I'm hoping to lure some classmates over to the dark side. The world needs more obsessed otaku fangirl nurses.
I also fit my best mp3's on there (4GB is a wonderful thing folks). This totally beats shelling out for an ipod.
I have found a passion for the music of Chihiro Onitsuka. For anyone who played Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, she sang the ED. She's a little less ... idolpopish than say Ayumi Hamisaki and she has a nice alto that I like (sopranos give me headaches). I highly recommend for anyone who with bittorent capabilities and a yen for good Jpop go to isohunt.com and DL the bittorrent of either her "Singles 2000-2003 - 2005" or there is even a torrent that has some of her videos in there. It took me a week and a half to DL that one, but it was well worth it for the 320kbps quality.

The prize being my sincere admiration. I didn't even know I OWNED this many songs that weren't in Japanese.

Just got my DVD of Bowie's Reality tour last night. Wow, that's some great music. The videography gives me hives, though. Apparently they didn't get the memo that you can stay on a shot for more that two and a half seconds. It was like watching the opening of The Real World for two hours, only with infinitely better music. And all those strobes and pixelations and various other obnoxious effects were so overused. It really pissed me off, because it would have been the best concert video of all time if it weren't for that. Damn, that man is good live.

Moving on ...

Woohoo! 89 on my nursing unit exam. Looks like I may make it through my senior year after all. If I can pass micro, that is. Speaking of which, I spent my morning trudging through the six inches of melting snow over at Jericho Lake so I could get a test tube of water that may or may not contain coliform bacteria.

And I'm gonna miss Riverfire becuase I have to work. I was looking forward to that, too. Nummy pumpkin pie and watching the little kids get the pee scared out of them by the haunted house. I have no talent for dressing up, so I like to live vicariously through everyone else's cool costumes.
